Friends come to visit
I've had lots of friends come and visit. I'm so lucky - not even a month old and I have tons of friends! The Boutons came over for dinner. Chloe says that she's going to be my BFF. If that doesn't work out, there's a baby Bouton baking in Marcia's belly who'll be closer to my age. And when I get older I just know Chuck will teach me lots of cool boy things along with Daddy- like burping, farting, and 4 letter words.

The Whole Bouton Family
Then Mom's friend, Emily, came over and brought Ellie and Dylan. Dylan's only 4 months older than me. I know we're going to be buds. Ellie's 16 months older than me. I hope she has cute friends when she grows up.

Big day
I've been waiting my whole life for this day. After three weeks, I got to go to Costco!! (You have to trust me that I'm in the car seat in the picture.) And I got to have lunch at Mimi's as a bonus. Well okay, I didn't eat but hanging out there was pretty cool. It sounds like I might be spending a lot of my time with Mom and Dad at Costco.

Getting bigger
Accessories
Just because I'm a boy, it doesn't mean I can't look good. Look at my cute shoes! That's for the cool footwear, Mom-mom.
Gram, Gramma, Gma, Gramsie comes
Another Grandlady came to visit me. I'm really confused about what her name is. She kept changing from Gram to Gramma to Gma to Gramsie. Mom and Dad called her Mom and Saundra. I just call her Nice Grandlady for now. I'll name her later when I can talk. She was really nice. She held me and fed me and loved to take my picture. She took Mom and me out when Mom couldn't drive - my first outing to Target!! I liked her so much, I pooped on her. Well, I was nice enough to keep it in my diaper.
My brothers
This is me and my brother, Bob. He's pretty cool. He comes running when I cry and gives Mom a dirty look 'till she gets over to see what I want. I can't wait to get on the floor so I can climb on him and pull his tail. I hear I have another brother named Garcia. So far I've heard all the noise he makes (he's much louder than I am) but haven't seen much of him. I hope he shares all his toys with me.

First bath
So far, Sam's liking the bath. We're still in the sponge bath stage (things are still healing) so we'll see what happens when his little feet and hands get to splash around in the water. Hopefully he'll like it because we've got a lot of swimming to do here in Phoenix.

1 week old - a little late
It's amazing how busy you can be with a newborn that sleeps all day. I'm not sure where the days go. Of course now that I can drive, Sam and I are on the move. Here's some old pictures when he was one week old to get Sam's blog up to date.

Had a bad day
I am not happy! It's Sam again. Look - I know I kept you up all night, and I'm really sorry, but did you have to take me to the doctor and make her do THAT to me? "You'll appreciate it when you're older." I have no idea what you're talking about, but I'm not buying it. The good news is I'm growing like a weed. I'm up to 7lbs 14oz (ok so it's only the 20th percentile, but it's something) They claim I'm 20.5 inches but last visit they say I was only 19.5 inches which meant I shrunk after I left the hospital. Well, I know I'm getting longer. I'm in the 40th percentile for length!! I'm trying to catch up to my cousin, Shannon. How am I doing Uncle Dash and Aunt Bren? Getting close?

Accidentally uploaded this one twice - can't figure out how to delete it. oops
The grandparents arrive
Hey, it's Sam. Mom's got some older pictures to post but she's slacking so it's my turn. Last week Grandpa Doug and Grandma Laurie came to visit. These grandparent people are great. They held me, and loved me, and bought me things. The best part is I hear I have five more of them. Am I lucky or what?!?!

Hospital days

Sam's first 4 days of life were spent at the lovely Thunderbird Medical Center. Although we had the helpful hands of the Labor and Delivery staff, we weren't without our bumps in the road. Daddy Matt was forced to spend his nights on a less than comfy cot, Mommy Melissa (that's me) couldn't sit up without the assistance of her mechanical hospital bed, and Baby Sam - oh poor Baby Sam. Believe it or not, Matt and I managed to have a child who didn't know how to eat. Day 1 included his blood sugar dropping and difficult force feedings. Night 1 was spent in the nursery because he was so cold, he turned blue. Soon after, his blue face turned yellow and a mild case of jaundice set it. But after all of our trials and tribulations, Sam was figuring out the eating issue, we learned our son needed multiple layers in the heat of the Phoenix summer, and we were able to head home...
